Dine Local was formed as Original Fare in 2003 after restaurant owner Jessie Radies thought independents needed to come together to help each other compete in Edmonton, a market full of multi-national restaurant chains.
Since then, other businesses have approached Jessie to create solutions in other industries which led to the creation of Live Local Alberta, a non-profit dedicated to supporting locally-owned business in Edmonton and area.
We’re home to some of Canada’s best independently-owned restaurants; restaurants that have won awards for their creative regional cuisines and their passion for using fresh, local ingredients. Not only does this help support local growers and producers, it introduces diners to tastes and ingredients they may never have explored before.
